Waselenchuk wins IRT Ektelon 209 Battle of the Ages in Stockton

Kane Waselenchuk won the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) Ektelon 209 Battle of the Ages in Stockton, California Sunday in what was an anti-climatic final after Alvaro Beltran had to withdraw early in the second game due to a back injury.

Waselenchuk won the first game, 12-10, and was up 2-0 in game two, when Beltran withdraw.

They had gone toe to toe in the first game, and it boded well for an excellent final, but sadly that was not to be.

The win is Waselenchuk's 7th of the season and 6th in a row, and it comes in the penultimate event of the season, which will conclude in two weeks with the Pro Kennex Tournament of Champions in Portland, Oregon.

Regardless of what happens in Portland, Waselenchuk will finish #1 at the end of the season for the sixth consecutive time and ninth time overall from eleven seasons on tour.

The IRT be back in action in Portland, Oregon May 15-18 for the Pro Kennex Tournament of Champions.
