Polo Gutierrez won the World Racquetball Tour (WRT) Mt Rainier Open in Seattle, Washington, Sunday by defeating 1st seed Alejandro Cardona, 15-9, 15-13, in the final. According to a WRT tweet the win will put Gutierrez into the #1 spot in the rankings. He was the 2nd seed in Seattle.
The doubles final went to 5th seed Mario Mercado and Andree Parrilla who were walk-over winners against 2nd seeds Alejandro Cardona & Danny Lavely.
The next WRT event will be the Pleasanton Open next weekend (Feb 27-March 1) in Pleasanton, California.
