2015 Pan American Championships - Day 2

There was much less drama Sunday at the the XXVIII Pan American Racquetball Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It was the second day of the preliminary group matches. Results from the group play will be used to seed players for an elimination round that will begin on Wednesday.

Perhaps the most notable result Sunday was Colombian Andres Ramirez's win over Cesar Castillo of Venezuela, 7-15, 15-11, 11-5, as that means he'll win his group, because he defeated Pedro Castro of Canada on Saturday. Castro was seeded second in the event, based on Canada's best showing in two of the last three Pan Am Championships.

By virtue of winning the group and defeating the 2nd seed, Ramirez will now be seeded 2nd in the elimination round.

Group play concludes Monday in Santo Domingo with Tuesday as an off day and then the elimination round will begin Wednesday.

There will be live streaming of some matches Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Look for the link on the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) website.
